LaughingSynopses of several operas as well as sound and video clips. Biographies and photos of composers.   For those new to opera, terminology, pronunciation guide, and summary as well as questions.  The viewer may also go behind the scenes and learn about costumes, makeup and lighting.  The best part of this site though are the interactive games that make opera fun such as "Opera is not Trivial", "Whack a Tenor" and "Opera Karaoke".  Visitors can also print out their own Viking helmet, finger puppets, doorknob hangers, and picture frames.  Great site!

LaughingHear the instruments (Windows Media Player) at the Instrument Encyclopedia, print an orchestra seating chart, view several links (22) regarding making instruments, practicing, and composer scavenger hunt.  Check out "I am a Musician".  These are biographies of actual musicians who tell what they did when they were kids.  There's also a Teachers' Lounge with tons of links.  To name a few:  searchable lesson plan database, weblinks, and games (The Time Machine, Beethoven's Baseball, Music Match, Color a Picture, Composer's Keyboard, Hangman, Word Match, and Letter Scramble).
